Plate: Authentic Italian Dining in Kansas City, MO

Never have had a bad meal here. You can tell all of the food is extremely well curated and staff have always been polite and welcoming!

This is a review based on two visits. The good news: best tomato soup I've ever had; delicious arancini. Low-keyed friendly server. The not-so-good new on another visit. Everyone at the table but one ordered a first course and a second course. They ordered it clearly, as in: for my first course I'll have... ; for my second course I'll have .... All the course were brought to the table at one time. I had the Scallops Aqua Pazza-not many scallops and the shrimp were completely overcooked. The toasted ciabatta was burnt ciabatta. The waiter was mostly absent.

I'm thrilled that Plate is doing well and continuing to be a staple in the Brookside area! I've been a couple of times since they moved to the new space, but very recently I went for a full fledged dinner and it was a nice experience! I was bummed that happy hour was only included in the bar area, as we wanted to have both a nice dinner and a bit of a deal, but alas we persevered. The story of my meal was TRUFFLE EVERYTHING. One of my all-time favorite flavors and they had it on their menu in abundance. We got the bread with truffle butter to start and it had great chunks of truffle that I was thrilled about. Then I ordered the truffle gnocchi which is technically on the appetizer menu but I knew I wanted dessert so it was perfect. It was nice and creamy and flavorful. To finish we got the s'mores dessert with the graham cracker on the side due to having a gluten-free friend in attendance. So good! loved the salt inclusion. When it comes to the service, our waiter was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and the gluten-free options! The manager spoke with us which was kind and even took a photo for us after. Will definitely be going back soon! Need more truffle!

We went for an early thanksgiving supper last night. We had many items and all tried each others' and the food was divine! We started with the truffle garlic bread (truffle butter was delish!) and it had chili flakes that just made it extra amazing somehow. We each had a different dish and everything was SO good. We also shared a few desserts, probably my favorite part of the meal! I didn't get a pic of my MIL spaghetti and meatballs (they were so kind to accommodate with something not on the menu) or my espresso martini (superb!) The service was great, our server was very knowledgeable and friendly, but I wish they hadn't sent some staff home early, as the staff had a hard time keeping up to the demands. But that cannot be changed. The parking is great, street and garage. The inside was beautiful and clean and the bar area is really neat. I'd love to come back sometime and highly recommend!

Great place for brunch! A very lovely restaurant with friendly staff and exceptional cuisine. We've never been disappointed.

The pappardelle and truffle garlic bread was FANTASTIC. Great dinner at the Brookside location celebrating our anniversary.

Stopped in last night for my second time & the food was delicious like it was previously. Our server was great & friendly and the restaurant is gorgeous and clean. Had the Quattro formaggio pizza with a side of arugula salad. We got both breads and the Brussels sprouts for the table, which were also yummy. We shared the olive oil cake for dessert, and it was delish! The only reason I chose 4 stars instead of 5 is because the host was a little snooty and not friendly.

My Brunch group met at Plate for brunch. I cannot express how good the food is at this location (63rd Street). I ordered the Carbonara. Did I mention they make their pasta in-house? Well, they do. Come out and try it. You'll like it!
